A Brief Introduction to African American Genealogy Research

In search of your past, you must journey through the emotional depths of your histories that have brought you here and sift through and beyond the many pieces of information that if catalogued and placed properly about your histogram will produce a myriad figurations, answering the where and how and why questions needed to accurately tell your family history, to show precisely your place in the African Diaspora, and demonstrate the ways in which Black life and culture have impacted the world over. There is no single source that will address all the questions that will emerge along the way, but if the records that must be engaged are patiently examined, the answers will be plentiful.
